Shakespeare Street Youth Club

Shakespeare St Youth Club was founded in 1917 and has the accolade of being the oldest youth club in Scotland. The Youth Club currently houses 3 weekly youth clubs and is host to a manner of different community organisations. North United Communities (NUC)

Maryhill Housing work closely with North United Communities who run a range of projects within the area including educational and group work. North United Communities (NUC) is dedicated to strengthening the community and want children, young people and their families to lead happier, healthier lives.

They deliver at their centres through group activities, one-to-one sessions, street work and also by visiting families.

Young Movers (YoMo)

YoMo (Young Movers) is Glasgow's North East and North West Youth Empowerment Charity, providing services that empower young people that live across those areas of the city. Thanks to funding from the Glasgow City Council Community Fund, we have commissioned YoMo to deliver homework clubs at Community @ Maryhill, located at the bottom of 29 Glenavon Road. All activities are free and available for 5-16 year olds:

Monday

  • Glenavon Kidz Club (P1-P4) – 3.45pm to 5pm
  • ​Junior Club (P5-P7) – 5.30pm to 7pm

Tuesday

  • Glenavon Kidz Club (P1-P4) – 3.45pm to 5pm

Wednesday

  • Glenavon Kidz Club (P1-P4) – 3.45pm to 5pm
  • ​Junior Club (P5-P7) – 5.30pm to 7pm

Thursday

  • ​Junior Club (P5-P7) – 4pm to 6pm

Friday

  • Employability Sessions – 12pm to 3pm
  • Youth Club (S1-S3) – 5pm to 6.30pm

Saturday

  • Community Warmer – 10am to 2pm (until the end of March 2023)
