Cost of Living Payment
Millions of households across the UK will receive £300 directly from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) between 31 October and 19 November.
To qualify for the second Cost of Living Payment, customers must receive at least one of the following benefits between 18/08/2023 and 17/09/2023:
The £300 Cost of Living Payment will be sent out automatically and directly to customers, meaning those eligible do not need to apply, contact the Government, or take any action to receive it. If a customer is receiving tax credits only, they will receive the payment from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) between 10 and 19 November 2023.

Child Winter Payment
The £235.70 Child Winter Heating Payment is automatically paid to families of children and young people up to the age of 19 who already get one of the following qualifying benefits between 18/09/2023 and 24/09/2023:

The highest rate of the care component of Child Disability Payment or Disability Living Allowance for Children.

Receiving enhanced rate of the daily living component of Personal Independence Payment.

Receiving the enhanced rate of the daily living component of Adult Disability Payment.
Families will get a letter to confirm they are entitled to the payment, and money will be paid automatically into the same account as their qualifying benefits. They do not need to apply separately to get the payment. In certain circumstances, an application may be required.
The payment is per child or young person, not per household; if more than one child or young person per household is entitled, they will each get a payment.
