All properties in Scotland have to meet new Fire Detection Regulations by February 2021.
This means all properties should have:
at least one smoke alarm installed in the room most frequently used for general day-time living purposes,
at least one smoke alarm in every circulation space on each storey, such as hallways and landings;
at least one heat alarm installed in every kitchen;
a long life, sealed carbon monoxide detector in all homes (where a gas supply is installed).
All alarms should be ceiling-mounted and interlinked.
If you are unsure whether your home will meet the standards then please call us 0141 946 2466 and we can check. Where works are required, we will organise for our contractor Power Distribution Company (PDC) to attend and make your home as safe as possible.
