Glenavon Road Firestopping Surveys & Communal Landing Partial Ceiling Coating (Artex) Removal Works
Maryhill Housing Association will carry out firestopping surveys in the communal areas at 29, 71 and 115 Glenavon Road. This means that the Association’s contractor, Adman Ltd, will identify any areas that need to be repaired in case of a fire, such as filling holes in walls or ceilings. This will reduce the risk of any possible fire or smoke spread.
In order for Adman Ltd to carry out these essential surveys, they will need to access behind some of the boxing-in on the communal landings. The boxing-in is fixed to an Artex coated ceiling which contains very low-risk asbestos. To ensure safe access behind the boxing-in, this Artex coating will be removed by a specialist contractor.
Important Information
The Artex coating contains a very low level of asbestos, and all work is being carried out using strict safety measures.
The work will be done in the communal landing areas only – we do not need access to your home.
The stairwell will remain open, but the lift landing will be temporarily sealed off with safety sheeting while the work is taking place.
A work schedule can be found below. It includes the day and time for when the removal work in your landing are will be taking place. It will either be:
To help the work go smoothly and safely, please ensure you remain in your home between your allocated times or make alternative arrangements to avoid the landing areas. Please do not arrange any deliveries between these times, and if you have carer support, please inform them of when this work will take place in your landing area.
If you need to leave your home while the work is taking place:
We understand this may cause some disruption and we appreciate your patience. These works are part of our ongoing commitment to keeping your building safe. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
