From 1st August 2021, the free TV licence offer will only be available to people aged over 75 that are claiming Pension Credit.
Pension Credit is an income-related benefit for people over state pension age- 75 years old. It can be used to top-up your retirement income and help with the cost of living.
Anyone aged 75 or over who is in receipt of Pension Credit will remain entitled to a free TV licence for their main home. Anyone aged 75 or over who is not in receipt of Pension Credit will have to pay for their TV licence.
If you're not receiving Pension Credit and would like to check your entitlement, please call our Financial Support Team on 0141 946 2466 to arrange a telephone appointment or speak to your Housing Officer who can arrange a telephone appointment with the team.
