We have been made aware today of a bogus caller in the Maryhill area and would urge all of our customers to be vigilant.
We understand that a male claiming to work for one of our contractors, Engie, gained access to a customer's home. The individual in question was dressed in a similar way to Engie staff but did not have an official ID badge (which all genuine contractors do).
The customer contacted Engie (who advised that no tradesman were due to attend) as well as Police Scotland. The Police will be carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the next few days.
Our staff and contractors will always have photographic identification on them. Always ask to see the identification badges of anyone claiming to work for us. If you are still unsure you can contact us to verify their identity.
If you are concerned that a bogus caller may be operating in your area please contact us as soon as possible on 0141 946 2466 or call Police Scotland on 101.
