The Role
We have a new and exciting opportunity for a HR Assistant to join our HR Team for a fixed term period of 18 months.  This is a new post that has been added to our HR Team after a recent review. This role will work to provide a high quality, customer focused, HR service measured against agreed standards that achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.  The is a generalist role and will involve a range of HR services covering Recruitment, Absence & Attendance Management, Learning and Development and Administrative Support.
 
You will be responsible for the coordination of end-to-end recruitment and selection process., including ownership of the onboarding and offboarding process. You will manage our Time & Attendance system (Kelio) and deal directly with any ongoing queries that relate to this.
You will support the HR & Wellbeing Officer with the coordination of any absence and attendance management related task.  The postholder will monitor and report on absence as and when required, whilst providing 1st line advice and guidance to managers.
 
You will be responsible for the maintenance of our HR System (Sage People), to ensure the accurate input of all new starter, changes or reporting as and when required. The post holder will have responsibility for the learning and development (L&D) co-ordination of all L&D across the organisation from planning to booking.   You will be involved in the development of a learning and development calendar to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the annual learning and development planning/ booking process.  
 
The HR Assistant will also provide administrative support to the HR Manager and HR & Wellbeing Officer, whilst managing our HR mailboxes and providing 1st line advice to all HR general enquiries.
 
What we are looking for
You will have experience of working at HR Assistant level, providing a high-quality HR service, advice, and guidance on a range of HR matters.  You will be required to work discreetly with sensitive and confidential information, in line with GDPR.

We are looking for someone who has excellent IT and is able to utilise the Microsoft Office packages to their full potential.   You will have experience in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams. We are looking for someone who has experience working on HR systems, ideally this will be Sage People, although any HR system experience will be advantageous.

Working in the HR team it is vital that you have excellent people skills and can use this to motivate, communicate and engage with people at all levels across the organisation.  You are required to have a very good knowledge of current and upcoming employment law and be able to apply this to current HR best practice.  
 
You are required to have a Foundation CIPD Membership for this role (CIPD Level 3 or equivalent).

This role has a competitive salary banding of £26,071 - £28,974, EVH Grade 5.
In addition, you will receive an excellent benefits package, which includes 25 days annual leave (pro rata), 15 days public holiday (pro rata) and access to a contributory pension scheme.
