The Company
Based in the north of Glasgow, Maryhill Housing has been established for over 40 years.   We own over 3000 rented properties and provide a factoring service to over 700 units.  We offer a rewarding work environment and as a valued employee you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to both our local community and to people’s lives.

The Role
We are looking for a driven and experienced Housing Officer who can demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing tenancies and engaging with communities.  This post would suit an experienced housing professional who is keen to use their existing experience to make a real difference to the community and our customer’s lives.

The role will require you to manage a patch of properties in the Maryhill area, covering all aspects of housing management including allocation of houses, effective estate management and recovery of rent arrears.  The patch includes managing approximately 230 homes consisting of a mix of predominantly family housing in two multi-tenure new build developments.  Both developments benefit from active resident groups, therefore you will be required to work with local residents to identify funding and services available in the area.

This generic Housing Officer  role requires knowledge and experience of the key housing management areas,  with a focus on resolving complex Anti-Social Behaviour issues including taking legal action against perpetrators.  You will require excellent organisational skills and be a fantastic communicator who can build trust with customers and negotiate effectively.  You will have experience of estate management including regular estate inspections and liaising with customers and colleagues to address issues.

Our customers are at the heart of everything that we do – to be successful in the Housing Officer role, you need to be truly customer-focused, able and willing to take ownership of problems and solve them and have the ability to work well under pressure.  Teamwork and the ability to plan effectively to meet targets and departmental objectives are crucial in this role.  The successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic Disclosure Scotland check.

On Offer
This is a permanent role with a salary banding of £33,642 - £36,941 (EVH Grade 7).  In addition, you will receive an excellent benefits package which includes 25 days annual leave, 15 days public holiday and access to a contributory pension scheme.
