About UsABOUT US

We are a charitable, community-based housing association operating in Maryhill and Ruchill to improve and build, manage and maintain houses.

WHERE DO WE OPERATE?

We began in the Eastpark area of Maryhill. From there we spread out to cover other areas: the Burgh Hall area, the Village area, Garrioch and Ruchill. Members of the Management Committee come from all of these areas.

DOES THE ASSOCIATION HAVE RULES?

Yes. The rules which govern our activities are the charitable community based housing association model rules. These rules are approved by the Scottish Housing Regulator which monitor housing associations, and also by the Registrar of Friendly Societies. A copy of these rules is available on request.

WHAT ARE OUR OBJECTIVES?

We have six key objectives, as follows:

  • to meet the needs of the community by providing housing of a suitable range and quality.
  • to provide quality housing services.
  • to maintain our houses in a desirable condition by providing a customer focused repair service.
  • to ensure that we have financial resources in place to meet our present and future needs.
  • to inform and involve Association tenants and the wider community.
  • to participate in the social and economic development of the community.

WHO EMPLOYS THE STAFF?

Staff are employed by the Management Committee to cover housing development, management and maintenance, finance, community development and administration.

WHAT KIND OF HOUSES DO WE PROVIDE?

We have a mix of housing and have built a number of new homes, mainly flats, terraced, 4 in a block and semi detached. We also have a large number of tenements. Our total stock is now over 930 properties.

WHO DO WE HOUSE?

We house a wide cross section of the community. We provide housing for all sizes of family, sheltered and amenity housing for the elderly, wheelchair users, and a few houses for people with learning difficulties or profound physical handicap.

RESIDENTS' ASSOCIATIONS

We have also promoted the creation of a number of Residents' Associations and we provide administrative support to them.

There are three in our area - Eastpark, Parkhill and Burgh Hall Village. The Association works closely with these organisations and they meet regularly. Like us, the operate to improve their areas. For dates when they meet please click here.

OUR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS

We are required to prepare Financial Statements (annual accounts) for each year ended 31 March. These provide a summary of the Association's financial performance for the year. The Financial Statements are independently checked by an external audit firm who confirm that the financial information provides a '‘true and fair' view of the organisation's financial affairs
